What Cassper Nyovest said at the age of 21 was the Phrophery to his success

First off, I know what's going through your mind and no, this is not the Casper you're thinking of. That Casper is literally a ghost and that couldn't be further away from what this Cassper is. That's because this Cassper's presence is felt. Always. Between probably being the only man not named Steven Segal with a ponytail in the 2Ist century, the humorously entertaining stage choreographies, and an undeniable Motswako bop in the young fella's step, Cassper Nyovest leads the freshman class in overall presence and style. So it was no surprise when hip hop heavyweight (no pun intended) and fellow Maftown native, HHP, recruited Cassper for a feature on his Dumela album for the song "Wam tseba mtho. That same joint that lead to him being included in a Motwasko tour called *Wam tsena Mtour', named after the song, on which Cassper took to the stage in over eight cities and displayed his now celebrated contagious performance style and energy.

The passion for hip hop was influenced by Cassper's older brother, Khotso Phoolo, who was a rapper, and unfortunately passed in 2003. Since
then Cassper has catapulted himself into the scene, seemingly overnight, and has killed stages at the Millers Rock the Boat Party, Mandela Day Concert and most recently, in the UK alongside HHP. "I wanna grow my brand faster than anyone has ever done it. I wanna be as big as HHP in half the time that he did it. I'm gonna do it by educating myself about the industry and listening to informed advice," says the twenty-one-year-old. And he's not doing too badly either. Though Cassper is better known for his features with artists that include Proverb, Tuks, KG (Morafe), American rapper/producer Omar and, of course, mentor, HHP, in 2010 he released two singles: 'Uwrongo' and most notably 'Halla at a Pantsula. The latter received over a thousand downloads in a single week and was play-listed on YFM and Metro FM all through 2011, forcing the doubters to pay due acknowledgement.

His relationship with HHP has clearly had a massive effect on him, even beyond the music, and Cassper is as focused as he is talented because of this. "He [HHP] suffered so that we don't. I also wanna make real money. I'm not talking abour money to blow in the clubs. I'm talking about money my unborn son is to get an education with. I'm talking about money that would get both my parents out of debt... I've aimed and now I'm shooting."
Currently working on his debut album for 2012 while trying to stack racks on racks on racks, Cassper couldn't be more confident about being in a league of his own. "I'm an African. All the guys coming out are trying to be like the artists they admire. When Kanye meets me, I won't tell him how much I like him. He's gonna be asking me how I do things. Kanye yago tlala ka lepantsula." You can't tell him nothing! www.twitter.com/CassperNy... www.myspace.com/casspernyo... www.facebook.com/Cassper Nyovest
