Artist : Mo'lemi
Album : Amantsi
Record lable : CCP Records / EMI
A politically concious farmer-come-rapper, Mo'lemi is yet another strong branch of the Motswako family tree. However, listening to the album, you can hear that he bares different fruits from the rest. The album begins with a rich traditional intro as the MC gives us a glimpse at his Setswana heritage. Molemi tells us his life story, and just like the **** le of the album, he has a lot to say. From the well balanced, care- fully thought out content, you can almost picture Mo sitting in his farm, scripting day after day as he touches on all types of subject matter - some of which is politically charged. Amantsi is a political album that makes you think and will hopefully prompt you to act. Above all, its easy on the ear. If you're into healthy eating, this album is sure to keep you regular with tracks like 'Magnificent' featuring Kaygism, 'Molelo', 'Gud Mood', 'Footprints', Manong' featuring HHP, 'Pimpa' and 'Cover Charge' featuring Tuks. Although the album lacks the dance tunes that have made Motswako popu- lar, it still proves to be a very entertaining project. Mo'lemi's hard-hitting political raps are just as interesting and as entertaining as those of his genre mates. TTP
