Tributes have been pouring in since the news of legendary actor Connie Chiume's death broke on Tuesday afternoon.
Award-winning actress Connie Chiume has passed away.
The Black Panther, Black Is King and Blessers actress passed away on the 6 of August 2024 at Garden City Hospital.
She passed away at the age of 72.
Her family shared the news in a short statement on her verified Instagram account.

"The Chiume family regrets to inform you of the passing of the international[ly] acclaimed award-winning actor Connie Chiume," read part of the statement.
Mam' Connie leaves behind a daughter, a son, and grandchildren.
The actor won viewers' hearts when she starred on e.tv's soapie Rhythm City. She also appeared in shows like Zone 14, Soul City, Mazinyo Dot Q and Gomora.

Chiume got her big Hollywood break when she appeared in the Marvel film Black Panther (2018) and Beyonce's Black Is King (2020).

Hollywood actor Lupita Nyong'o, who starred with Chiume in Black Panther, also joined others in paying their tributes.

"We have lost a library! May Connie Chiume rest in peace and power," she wrote.
