Raising The Next Generation
As hip hop artists and active headz, were not just here to have fun and drop records, were here to raise the next generation... Hip hop culture is the single most infivential youth sub-culture worldwide. I is the mos powerful way to communicate with young, people worldwide, In fry experience, the young adults of today have been raised by their parents or guardians, extended family, reachers as well as uncles Chuck D, Rakim, RZA and Snoop, not forgetting big, brothers Pac, Big, Canibus, MI, Stick Man and the POC family. Depending on your tate of course, it could have been Snoop who taught you the difference between a lady and a... well you figure it out. Chuck D may have opened your eyes to the teachings of Malcolm X and Steve Biko. For those who were old enough. POC got you standing in line to vote in "94 and helped you celebrate victory over the oppressor. Canibus trained your mind to become a sharper, more lethal weapon while Rakim gave you the confidence to say "here I am." ld like to speak to the big name artists for a change. To a lot of kids watching TV. listening to radio, copping your albums, seeing you on the scene and reading these articles... you are their heroes. They look up to you and want to be just like you. You have a responsibility to positively inspire them. They walk, talk, rap and dress like you, and subscribe to everything you subscribe to because you are opinion leaders. As much as clothing labels become popular to them through your endorsement, your lifestyle become desirable to them.
To the many of you setting a good example, keep it going, but to those of you who aren't. please check yourself. To the fans and aspiring artists... especially the younger generation - stay in school, stay away from drugs, stay focused and please take only the positive aspects of the culare. Hip hop culture is about knowledge of self, attaining a high level of awareness, teaching, learning and giving back to your community. It's about bringing about positive change and passing these values on to the next generation of headz.
As hip hop, we have always spoken about the positive and negative equally, in order to educate ourselves and others about the realities we face in our communities. We are a thinking people, and the single most influential youth sub-culture worldwide. Right now, this drug problem is decaying our minds and eroding what has been built by our pioneers. Come on! Keep your head up! This is more just music. And we are more than just producers, rappers, graf artists, b-boys. beat boxers and Djs, we're the leaders of a generation, and we are here to help raise the next generation. I was raised by my parents, extended family and teachers, but there were certain lessons that couldn't be taught in school and at home, and which were taught to me by the music. Let's keep this in mind and keep it moving, Peace.

2008 article on YFm magazine
DJ Cleo is untouchable at the moment, and he knows it. He is still making big waves in the charts, clubs and newspapers. This is also the man who not long Arthur Mafokate of stealing his number-one i Nawe from his latest album E'skhaleni Extension on its way to reaching double platinum status,
The stealing of ideas and beats is rather ramp entertainment industry. It seems pretty easy whe artists give their demos to big names in the hope o: get their "big break" into the music biz. A radio presenter, who wanted to remain anonymous, suggested the possibility of this happening and insinuated that a young, budding producer probably gave the same track to both Mafokate and Cleo, Cleo decided to add his hit-making formula to the sample, and N'gihamba Nawe was the final product. On hearing it, Arthur supposedly dug into his archives to find the same sample to
mix. With all the speculation, it was time to get the story from the horse's mouth. The thing everybody wants to understand is how Arthur could possibly have gotten his hands on Cleo's work? He simply says, "I don"t know. Ask Arthur."
So we decided to approach D-rex, a well-known producer supposedly dug into his archives to find the same sample to mix.
With all the speculation, it was time to get the story from the horse's mouth. The thing everybody wants to understand is how Arthur could possibly have gotten his hands on Cleo's work? He simply says, "I don"t know. Ask Arthur."
So we decided to approach D-rex, a well-known producer and Kabelo's partner at Faith records, to find out more about the production process, and how artists can claim ownership of other artist's tracks. D-rex gave
a general explanation of how songs can sound similar, explaining: "Before computers, before beat makers/ producers and sampling, if two songs sounded the same it was ***** umed that there was plagiarism involved. In the old days, the odds of two composers composing exactly the same song were astronomically slim. However, in modern cases it's not as clear-cut. The methods of composing music have drastically changed"
He went on to explain how library samples are often the cause of similar-sounding songs. "When a producer samples a track, the new song sounds a lot like the original it was sampled from, but usually has been reworked to include modern beats and new vocals. The new song is now a hybrid. This is not only common but normal these days. Another
possibility is that both producers have used the same sample in a new composition." As logical as all these reasons are, the timing of both tracks was surely not a coincidence. "Its unlikely, but possible," says D- Rex. "The more likely scenario is that one of the two producers heard the other producer's version and copied his idea."
DJ Cleo is still furious over the matter and seems annoyed by the media who, he claims, "tried to nail [him]". He adds: "You could swear that they're on Arthur's payroll. The public's not stupid; they know what's real, hence they bought my album. Like Zuma, I came out tops. I have been vindicated!" Okaaay.
Moving on... Does Cleo think that the music scene has become a battle field, featuring 999 versus Will of Steel? Let's not forget that Arthur's artist Pantsula attacked Cleo's Brickz in one of his songs, which sparked a new round.of label bashing. He says, "WOS versus 999? Please, it's like having the national football team of Brazil play against Garankuwa United. Come on lets get real here."

Intaba Yase Dubai offered his apology to Big Zulu‼️⚠️
This is for his previous accusations of exploitation regarding the hit song "Imali Eningi."
In 2022, Intaba Yase Dubai, real name Lindokuhle Msomi from Maphumulo in KwaZulu Natal, expressed his grievances by stating that Big Zulu's label, Inkabi Records, exploited him as he was not compensated despite co-writting the hit song "Imali Eningi."
“Imali Eningi has reached over 12 million streams but I’m broke. Never got even R1. It’s so painful to work hard, only to become broke and watch other people benefit from your hard work. You have to act like we are all okay while only one individual is. F**k features!!” he wrote on social media.
Intaba penned a lengthy note to apologise to the music star and set the record straight about the accusation.
“I would like to apologise to anyone that I had a beef with. It wasn’t my intention to fight with people or use vulgar language. I’m not proud of what I did and my past experiences have taught me that I cannot walk alone. Every person needs that one person to grow. I’m sorry to anyone that I hurt,” he said.
“I don’t have any issues with him. He never stole a cent from me or robbed me of any money. The only person who robbed me of my money was the person who accepted it from him but never gave it to me,” he said referring to his former boss at Ambitiouz, Kgosi Mahumapelo.
“Big Zulu had good intentions and I took out my frustrations on him. I regret ever signing a recording deal, I should have stayed at home and released music without any recording deal. Please stop going around speaking ill of Big Zulu. It’s time to let bygones be bygones,” he said.
